Felicity Interviews Yvette Inufio

Hi All, here's another fantastic post from Felicity {All Things Bright & Beautiful}....xx Anna

Those who know me know that I have a weakness for beautiful photography and flowers. Yvette Inufio is one incredibly talented lady who combines both. She photographs a variety of subjects which often have a certain vintage ethereal quality to them, but her flowers are my favorites. She often pairs them with inspiring quotes such as ..........

"Love life, engage in it, give it all you've got. Love it with a passion, because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it."~ Maya Angelouand........

"Stuff your eyes with wonder... Live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories."~Ray Bradbury

I am delighted to be have a short interview with her for you to enjoy.................

Yvette, where are you from?
I was born in La Habana, Cuba, 33 years ago. I've been living in Miami, FL since 2002.

How long have you been photographing for?
Since I owned my first camera, about 10 years ago.

What is your favorite photography subject and why?
I enjoy discovering simple things and love how they look in my photos, it's like magic.

Who are your favorite photographers?
I don't have any in particular. It's that bad? But I learn every day from all the pictures that I see constantly. It's a great inspiration.

What are your plans for the future?
I dream of having one day having an exhibition of my pictures. Until that day arrives I will continue to shoot all the tiny details of my world.

Thank you so much Yvette for taking the time to chat with us. You can also find Yvette's work for sale here on Etsy. Have a look, she has some lovely prints.

All images from Yvettes flickr stream. Thank you Bliss for the introduction:-).

Aren't the little paper pilgrim and Indian above just so cute? They're made out of paper, thanks to www.Macula.tv. Visit their site to see their different paper craft templates that may become your centerpiece friends.

Also, we just wanted to give you a sneaky-peek of what's coming up Monday for our post. Next week we will be starting the 12 days of Glitzmas! It will be different from our other posts in that we will be posting daily, Monday-Saturday. Each day we will post 2 of our gifts so that we sum up the 12 days in 6. That will give you time to decide what gifts you might want to do. We are excited to share these ideas with you, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We Breed Them HOT In Australia

Feast your eyes and never say I don't do anything for you!!

Drop In And Visit

We did Little Women for book group this month and discovered this gorgeous home.

New piece and weekend recap

Matt and I had a wonderful time chatting with brides and attendees to the Fall Bravo! Wedding Affair in downtown Portland. We accompanied our fabulous wedding photographers, Paul and Holly of Paul Rich Studio. Paul and Holly have had quite the year and it was great to view some of their gorgeous wedding albums. One twigs & honey hair piece was the raffle prize for a lucky winner and another lucky lady will be working with me on a custom hair piece, which was another raffle prize.

Matt and I also had a minute of fun visiting Paparazzi Tonight, who specialize in photo booths for wedding and special occasions. The photos are quick and fun and would be a blast for your wedding guests! The bonus is that they can be printed in mere seconds and later downloaded from home. Check out our pictures:

Very cool!

Like the hair piece I'm wearing? Well, I'm listing it in my Etsy shop for some special lady to enjoy! The day before the event, I knew I wanted to wear a hair piece and went back to an old favorite for inspiration, Marie Antoinette the movie. I was inspired by the film when planning our wedding and loosely based my wedding day hairstyle on those featured in the film. Over the weekend, I was particularly smitten with this look:

Here's what I came up with:

I was going to wear it on top of my head like Kirsten in the movie, but Matt poo poo'd that idea and said to wear it off to the side. :)

Check it out in my Etsy shop!

Thank you so much Paul & Holly! Also, thank you to all the brides at the Bravo! event. I had a wonderful time chatting with everyone!

ThanksGiving-Away!

There’s pumpkin spice flowing through the air, leaves crunching beneath our boots & warm wool mittens pressing against our skin... it’s fall! And with fall comes a wonderful time to show our gratitude. Thanksgiving is a time to regard the harvest’s that have surrounded us throughout the past year.

Our art department has been preparing for our family Thanksgiving feasts coming up this Thursday. We have been able to use our Windsor line for so many of our decorations (you can view our gallery here).
Pictured above is our Windsor 1 hour album that arrived just a few weeks ago. We were so excited by how beautifully everything came together!

We would like to show our gratitude to you our viewers for helping us make this blog amazing! The language of gratitude most appealing to us is to have a giveaway for our Windsor 1 hour album. Our 1 hour albums are incredibly easy to use. All the pieces are cut for you and you can actually put it together in 1 hour (we’ve tested it)! If you don’t believe us, try it for yourself. They are available in lots of sizes and different paper lines.

HOW TO ENTER OUR GIVEAWAY:
• post a comment by Wednesday night (the 26th) on this post
• we will randomly pick from those names and announce the winner on the blog Monday the 1st of December

See, simple as pumpkin pa (<---my southern accent)!

A Beautiful Tulle Skirt

Last week when we were re-arranging the shop Melanie spotted this girl who works in the shop next door to our shop wearing this fabulous tulle skirt. As Melanie is getting married next year we had to stop her and ask her the details. She told us it was the skirt from her wedding dress which was a vintage 1950's dress. We were in awe of this beautiful skirt and asked if we could take a photo so that we could swoon over it. When we were looking back at the photos we noticed she had paired the skirt with a silhouette t-shirt. How gorgeous is that!! I just had to share this beautiful outfit with you!!

Bravo! Wedding Affair :: Sunday, November 23rd

I'll be at the Bravo! Wedding Affair tomorrow, November 23rd from 11am-4pm. The event will be held at the Enbassy Suites Hotel in downtown Portland, OR. The Wedding Affair will include some of the best Portland has to offer if you are planning a wedding, from wedding planners, florists, wedding cakes, venues, and more! Our wedding photographers, Paul Rich Studio, will be one of the vendors in attendance. Matt and I will be at their table in the Conference Suites at Embassy Suites, which is on the ground floor. Please visit their table to view some of their beautiful albums and for your chance to win either a one of a kind twigs & honey hair adornment or a chance to win a free custom order. Another lucky winner will be getting a free engagement session with Paul Rich Studio! The Bravo! Wedding Affair is great because it's a more intimate setting with some of the best vendors for Oregon weddings. See you there!

Club SEI's November Video Instructions

OOPS! Josh accidentally deleted this post about the November Club SEI kit, with the video tutorial for the star album.

Here's that video again:

Black & Spiro Today - Part 2

Here are some more pictures of the shop. We have been re-arranging things at Black & Spiro today. As you can see we've got some purple emerging in our fabrics at the moment {I'm not usually a purple fan but I have been enjoying it lately}. I am very excited about the new curtains we recently installed. I based them on our couture cushions and had them made in patches of different fabrics we had in stock. I am also very excited about our Antique Mother of Pearl Dowry box and of course I'm thrilled with our vintage artwork cluster wall which we hung today. If you live in Brisbane we'd love you to drop in to see our new things!!

Calling all Oregon brides :: In person giveaway to come!

If you are going to be in the Portland, OR area on November 23rd, you may have the opportunity to win 1 of 2 twigs & honey pieces/prizes. You will also have the opportunity to chat with me in person - I would love to meet you! Details to come so check back later this week!

We're back! :: Short trip to Orlando

Matt and I had a great time in Orlando, FL last week for a business trip. It's nutty how things pile up FAST when you leave town! On top of the busy part of business, after we got back, Matt got sick, then I got sick, and our poor pup got sick too! I have been taking care of my two "babies".

While we were in Florida, we ate some great food and saw some Disney highlights. I couldn't believe the great 80+ degree weather. It was very humid, and the natural curl in my hair was loving it (though I tried to blow it out). Do other wavy/curly haired gals know what I'm talking about? It made me want to shave my head!

We didn't have a ton of time, but it was good for us to get outside! The whole Christmas decorations in warm weather was new for me. Holiday lights on palm trees... awesome!

I think one of my favorite parts of the trip was going to "Morocco" at Epcot for dinner with Matt. Delish!

Here are a few photo highlights:

Leaving Buena Vista Palace to go to DisneyWorld (right about now, I'm thinking about how my hair is getting curly)!

No lines at the Monorail in November!

First destination at DisneyWorld... Epcot!

I found this guy scurring across the sidewalk while we were walking to Downtown Disney. It then proceeded to pee and turn a bright green color.

Matt... the monster! Arrrh!

In Downtown Disney with my Lego dog. Indy would be so jealous!

At the awards dinner. I forgot to have a picture taken of us together. Oops! This will suffice. Like how we coordinated with the colors? I made Matt's pocket thing-a-mah-jig and he chose his tie. How cute!

Cool... black lights.

Look as this goofy guy. Matt and I were taking a lunch break at Tomorrowland in DisneyWorld when I spotted this bird. It wanted food of course, so I tossed it a bit of cream cheese filled pretzal. It didn't want it! What was midly disturbing was that when I tossed it a bit of turkey leg meat, it gobbled it up. I hope they are very, very distant relatives in the world of birds.

I asked a nice old lady to take our picture in front of Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom. I didn't realize until later, that you can't really see much of the Castle in this photo. ;)

Success!

The biggest gingerbread house I have ever seen!

Inside the Grand Floridian.
That's all!
