Jackie & Her Children

I was recently asked 91 questions in an interview for an exciting thing I will be involved in later this year. One of the questions I was asked was;

Who, in your opinion is/was the best dressed woman?

I answered Jacqueline Kennedy. I googled images of her recently and became instantly obsessed with the images of her and her beautiful children. It must be my current nesting instincts which drew me to these photos. I thought I'd share a few here today. Aren't they beautiful...

Shop Love

This is The Society inc. Situated  in Sydney's Paddington in a 1860’s terrace house.

It is an 'old habidashery meets hardware store specialising in local and global textiles, furniture, homewares and beautiful things' and is the retail baby of the fabulously talented interior stylist Sibella Court.

I'd anticipate there is hours of browsing possible in this bower of a store.  Tomorrow I'll show you her home upstairs - it's worth the wait!

Inspired!

I've just stumbled across this photo from CHALK 's old blog and it has almost inspired me to start producing some more.  I absolutely love putting the quilt tops together but I start to lose interest when it comes time to sew them all up.  I must admit that seeing these old designs and matching pillows gets me a little excited and I think I can feel some 'crafting' coming on!

Open Fires

countryliving.com

One of the sticking points that Surfer Boy and I have in regard to our extension is an open fireplace.  I am a firm believer that an open fire is a necessity to a home whereas my 'green' husband quite rightly complains of their ferocious appetites for timber and their inherent mess.
I know he is right and I am aware that the open fire place is by it's very nature, outdated in our modern homes - but I still want one!
Surely no home is complete without a hearth to gather around?

Looks like I'll need to do some research to find an alternative that lets me have the romanticism of the open fire without the drawbacks.  Any suggestions?

Twigs & Honey on Facebook.... umm... finally!

Haha!
I've always been the one to say, "I'm never joining facebook" and I finally got enough nudging that I started one up for Twigs & Honey. I think I was most dreading the random people from the past trying to track me down. SO, if you're a fan of Twigs & Honey, a friend, a family member or supporter, visit the new facebook page. Please! I was halfway joking with the hubby that I'm such a facebook loser right now with such a small number of fans (but great fans!!)... it makes you feel like you're in high school again. Anyone agree? I guess some things never change, but I hope to get more unique posts on my facebook wall. There are some great images from Aimee Jobe Photography and more!
Become a Twigs & Honey fan HERE (and help me not feel like the high school misfit again!). :) :) :)

Out & About: SGAR Opening

Renai Grace & Paul Spiro stand in front of one of the paintings we purchased last night by artist Simone Louise Gillespie

This is the other Simone Louise Gillespie painting we purchased

It was so nice to get out of the tracksuit pants I've been sporting all week and into some proper clothes with make-up on last night to head out to the opening of Spiro Grace Art Rooms in Spring Hill.

Brad, Harry & I decided we needed some adult time out so we decided to leave Max with his gorgeous Nanny Rhonda for a few hours whilst we attended the gallery opening. I had my first glass of French champagne in 9 months upon arriving at the gallery. It went straight to my head of course. We ended up purchasing 2 paintings by emerging artist Simone Louise Gillespie. I was so thrilled we decided on them straight away as every painting I looked at as the night progressed had a sold sticker.

Gallery owners Paul Spiro {yes he is related to me - he is my uncle} and Renai Grace will be showcasing emerging {and therefore quite reasonably priced} artists in their space on a quarterly basis. I for one can't wait for their next exhibition.

For all enquiries or to be added to SGAR's mailing list email Renai renai@sgar.com.au

Wednesday Wedding (on the wrong day!!)

I know it's not Wednesday but I absolutely LOVE this wedding.
A rainy day wedding could have been a disaster but the couple embraced the weather and as a result the photos are amazing.

Check out Braedon Photography to see more pictures of this lovely wedding.

Playday Cards

If you need to make some cards for anything from babies to birthdays try the Playday collection! Sherri Thompson made this charming baby card with Club SEI's September mini kit.

Remember Elaine Teo? Here are several birthday cards she made with Playday.

Thanks so much for sharing your projects. Keep them coming. We love it!

Living Rooms To Live In

I've seen a lot of homes lately that are fairly cookie-cutter and don't tell you much about the people who live there.  This is one of my pet peeves so I get very excited when I see houses that reflect the personalities of their owners.  Even if the style is very different to mine, it gives me such a thrill to see people express themselves through their interiors.
