Tropical Style

We went over to our little beach cottage at Stradbroke Island on the weekend. We haven't been over to the house for a couple of months as things have been busy and the house has been heavily rented by holiday guests. I must say the weather was divine and we really did have the most relaxing weekend we have had in quite some time.

It was great to look through a few of my old books and magazines at the house. I was really inspired by these tropical style images I found in a few of my old Vogue Living magazines which I thought I would share with you. I for one am so excited that Summer is just around the corner....well on our side of the world that is!!

Summer on the Otherside

One of the things I love about this time of year {Winter in Australia} when it comes to my magazine subscriptions is the beautiful Summer homes featured in my favourite American magazines. Even though we are a little lighter on this year without the likes of Domino to give us our hit, this month's issue of Elle Decor looks like it's a cracker!! Loving this house belonging to Scott Currie {Elie Tahari public relations} in Southampton, New York.

A Beautiful Old House

Look at this beautiful old timber house. To me this house exudes Summertime romance. I could imagine sitting on those white adirondack chairs sipping cool fresh cocktails listening to Frank Sinatra and chatting away with my family and friends! Only 3 more weeks to go till my family and I are off to the beach for our Summer holiday. I just wish I had a house like this at Straddie! I know a little over-the-top but I can dream can't I??
