Halloween Card and Spooky Shirts!

It feels much like Fall here in Michigan! It makes me want to pull out all of my Halloween decorations, find warm apple cider, and pick pumpkins and apples! I still have a couple more weeks so to hold me over until then, I have been playing with the Spooks collection from SEI!

Seriously...you can build your own monster on your own shirt! You get to pick the monster arms, eyes, mouths, and more, it just doesn't get better than that in my book! Here are my monsters, wearing their monsters! :)

My Own Halloween + GIVEAWAY [CLOSED]

It's our final day of iron-on fun! The truth is we are like little kids when it comes to these things. It is exciting to see the different expressions and create something one-of-a-kind. We have been making trick-or-treat bags and t-shirts with witches, draculas, monsters, and pumpkins. I am 1,2,3!

Guess what we have today? You guessed it. More iron-on projects! These new numbers are so perfect for birthdays. They come in designs for boys and girls from 1-3 years old.


You can make a shirt for your little one to wear on his/her special day. Then your child can wear it the rest of the year too. These are super easy to make. For the gift bags, we cut off the "I am" part at the top.


After your party is over, use some more of these fun iron-ons to scrapbook layouts too. What a great way to celebrate the toddler years!

Iron-on Sheets

What are iron-on sheets? They are sheets of iron-on material that come in a variety of patterns and solid colors. You can cut out your own designs for easy, customized projects. So, today we are going to show you some of our favorite iron-on sheet projects.


First, we have a home decor project. We purchased a plain pillow cover, cut butterflies out of the leopard iron-on sheet, and ironed them onto the pillow cover. It would also be fun to iron your family monogram on a pillow.


Here's another home decor project. This time we ironed onto wood, using the zebra pattern.


Doesn't this functional bag look good in camo? We just cut strips out for this project. The camouflage pattern works really great for boys clothing too.


This pink polka-dot pattern is new. It is perfect for girl's clothing. You could easily add a monogram to towels as well.


Isn't this a sweet scotty-dog? Houndstooth is a new pattern, also.


Animal prints are perfect for apparel items. How about dressing up some plain shoes with a cheetah print?

My Own Monster

Welcome to an especially fun-filled week on the blog. Let's get things started with a brand new video by our favorite experimenter, Matt. It is less than five minutes and well worth it. Watch it here or on YouTube.



Fun video, huh? Who knew creating monsters was so easy?


If you want to get your hands on one of these, stop by our craft website. They make a great family project for kids of all ages. Help your kids peel the features off the backing card and choose how they want their monster to look. Then, you can iron them on to all kinds of things.


Shirts are always a favorite. Kids can proudly wear their very own monsters. Funny how the monsters sometimes look like their creators.

Some of our favorite projects were done with the leftover features from the sheet. We have added them to pockets, journals, sock puppets, bags, and more!

Mustache & Lips Gloves

If you are tired of winter and want to have some fun with your gloves, this is project is for you! First, purchase one red and one black iron-on sheet. Then, follow the directions on the package to cut your shapes out and iron them onto your gloves.

We've had so much fun trying them on all kinds of things. Once you get started, you'll find the ideas keep coming. We brought a lot of our ideas to the CHA show, and we like them so much we want to share them with you too. The pictures that are shown above are a simple scarf and solid handbag. The iron-ons that we used were our cherry blossom and open daisies. Aren't they so cute? We would all honestly use these items in our everyday apparel.
